This Cartoon Life: High in the Himalayas

Somewhere high and in the most remote part of the Himalayas a Yeti stomps. The creature, the monster of legend and myth that strikes fear in all men with frightening accounts of it's sheer size, strength, and abilty to devour all before it...Well one day soon it will surely meet it's match!

This Cartoon life: Telephone doodles

Two quick biro doodles dashed off while on the phone at work, colour was added later at home.
The number on the second doodle is work related and nothing to do with the little fellow or the mammoth for that matter.

The wild about us: Birds

I take lots of photos, and also delete most of them afterwards as they are not very good,  but I suppose that's the luxury of digital photography you can be snap happy. Here is a little batch of birds that if you go at the right time of day will come in for food, the right time is normally first light or just after. These pictures I think are ok only from a composed picture point of view. I don't have, and certainly cannot afford of those bazooka sized fast lenses you need to get up close and personal to wild birds in low light. The other option of course is to build a hide and lie in wait but I think I'll wait until it gets a bit warmer for that.

and finally one of  my favourites the humble little Blue Tit

This Cartoon Life: Harry Hargreaves Books

I have long been a fan of Harry Hargreaves cartoon artwork. So I was pleased to get my hands on this little gem of book featuring his popular little character the Bird. It is an old book early 60's and cost at the time 7s 6d equivalent of 38 pence (37 and a half to be exact) these days. The drawings are pen and ink with some brush work and all have a great energy and humour in them. Well worth the sum significantly more than 38 pence which I paid for the book

This Cartoon life: Captain fornicator

Here we go again another sporting role model showing some of his more unsavoury qualities. The evidence seems to suggest he has been caught fornicating with another other than his good lady wife. Shock, horror but not surprised, with all that fame and fortune it seems that some are distracted from their responsibilities and obligations (wife and two children) and go ahead and make foolish decisions without thinking about the consequences. England Captain? well the jury is still out on that one.
Sadly it is alleged that all poor old JT was worried about was if god forbid his sponsors ever found out!
