Off the Sketch pad

A little creature done with ink and water colour. I used the water colour on non waterproof linework and just about go away with it. In fact I like how it makes for slightly muted colour.

Another helping of Sergio

Yes another book to add to my collection. It is the selected works (by the artist himself) of Sergio Aragones he of mad fame and legend. He has been gracing the pages of MAD mag since the sixties and is still going strong. He is a genius in what he does and has no equal!.... and furthermore if he lived in this country (UK) he would have been knighted for his services to humour in mankind......

George Booth

Check out the work of George Booth a very funny american cartoonist. His work regularly features a deranged looking dog (old english bull terrier I think) He has a great loose style and his combination of well drawn if not chaotic scenes and brilliant gag lines make his work a joy. You can see loads of his stuff on the New Yorker website or just Google the man.

A sample of Booth

Jack Davis

While mooching around the blog of Tom Richmond I picked up a great link to the art of one of my favourite artists Jack Davis

Now if you have seen the work of Jack Davis before then prepare for yourself for a feast of Jack's work if have not seen any of his work before don't waste time preparing just get straight to the banquet of Jack's Work simply brilliant!
